There Are No Dolphins in Venice
The fact is that a lot of capitalists are panicking right now. Economists are predicting the worst depression since the 1930s. The international bubble of fictitious capital has burst. People are talking about the end of neoliberalism, but this does not mean that what comes next will be any better, and pretending otherwise is dangerous.

76 Minutes of Silence
Over the years, I’ve observed that when I have more free time, it doesn’t result in more productivity for me. It just backs up and overflows and tries to swallow every remnant of effort I have left.

Opening a Restaurant During a Global Pandemic
Like many of you, Tim and I were looking forward to a new year and new decade. Sure a new year is great and everything, but a new decade, now that can expunge a lot of stupidity. Hindsight is 20/20 after all. Fuck fear was the mentality towards pursuing a lifelong dream. As terrifying as it was (and still is) to move forward, it paled in comparison to the regret of not trying.

Electric Dice
Let’s say it started around a fire, maybe in a cave, maybe at the feet of great tall stones, maybe when names were new and all history was oral history. We told stories. Maybe we all chipped in. Whether you call it art or play or anything else, it’s human. It’s a human thing to do.

dancedancedance
I am a 40-year-old artist. Recently I bought a house near the Wisconsin border with my husband, but after living in Chicago on and off since I was 16, that city will always feel like my home. I am also a massage therapist and a reiki practitioner, a death midwife and a hospice support volunteer. Right now I feel like I am trapped in a nightmare, facing the battle of my life, trying to strategize in a language I don’t speak, where all my weapons are useless. It’s nice to meet you.
