Live Concerts on Lumpen Radio

For the past few weeks Quarantine Times has been presenting live streaming concerts on it’s Twitch channel and live over the airwaves on Lumpen Radio WLPN-LP 105.5 FM, Chicago.
The live concerts are a way for us to bring back live shows like we would program in our own space, the Co-Prosperity Sphere. On Saturdays and Sundays we curate shows from Chicago-based performers along with a network of musicians from across the globe. We think of the shows as being similar to touring bands coming through Chicago and playing with local favorites.
The Saturday shows are curated and booked by Lumpen Creative Director, Jeremiah Chiu. Sunday shows are curated and booked by local Music and Design Scene impresario, Drew Ryan, of Neobeat and Struggle Inc. Our Lumpen Radio Station Director, Jamie Trecker, and a team of Lumpen Radio producers help broadcast the concerts live and then archive them on the Lumpen Vimeo website. We partner with pioneering Chicago-based Experimental Sound Studio and promote their live shows every Thursday. We also work with community radio station and collective KCHUNG each Wednesday with some experimental broadcasts. We expect to enter more partnerships and present more live programs from the Lumpen Radio family and greater community.
The shows vary from sublime electronic music, to experimental Animal Crossing instrumental suites, to indy pop and almost every genre you can think of. Here is a highlight from Sunday, May 10th’s Neobeat program: Live performance from Wetskull.
